On a bright and sunny Easter Monday, our State league squad today enjoyed a convincing 1st round cup win against a more experienced Bassendean side, running out 9-4 winners.
This squad is full of young players who will go on to play in the Gothia Cup in July, and playing in the State Cup is valuable experience for them.
The girls quickly settled into their game and raced into a 3-0 lead within the first half hour, with 2 goals from Tiahna Atkins and one from Louise Gishubl.
Bassendean then fought back strongly and it was 4-3 to our girls at halftime.
A strong second half performance followed, with 2 more goals from Tiahna, 2 from Sophie Preston and one more each from Louise and Talissa Hollis.
Well done girls on a great performance and congratulations to coach Ali McMurdo.
