Glory stars shine for Redbacks

Updated: Jun 26, 2019

With half of the season now complete, our Premier league squad are top of the table.

A consistent run of form has seen them move ahead of rivals Queens Park on goal difference, as

the return from injury of ex Kiwi international Renee Leota, plus the continued goal scoring form of Perth Glory player Sarah Carroll and young Tiahna Botha means the team is really clicking up front.

Defensively, the centre back combination of Perth Glory player Kim Carroll and ex W league player Bronwyn Studman is providing superb coverage for young Matildas goalkeeper Morgan Aquino, and the full back pairing of Emily Dunn and Katy Moth ensures that the defence is strong in wide positions as well

The central midfield pairing of ex W league players Carla Bennett and Shawn Billiam acts as both a defensive shield and an atacking base for the team, whilst the U23's are providing depth for the team, with young Gothia squad player Grace Monteiro continuing to impress and Mel Doeglas pressing hard for a starting position.

We spoke to Kim and Sarah Carroll after training on Tuesday night to get their thoughts on the season so far.
