The Club is in a sound financial position, but we need to seek sponsorship opportunities to minimize the need to increase fees. We must also continue to look at fundraising activities, so please contact your managers and coaches and let us know if you are aware of any sponsorship opportunities or have any ideas for fundraising. If you do attract a sponsor to the club, you receive a discount on your fees. Info on our sponsor packages is here

As the only female-only club in Perth, we have struggled in the past to obtain sponsors and with the move into NPL its now more important than ever for us to have them on board to help us compete with other more powerful clubs in the league.

Last Sunday, the season began when our NPL team took on Murdoch University Melville Football Club (MUM FC) at Curtin University in the inaugural WA NPLW Night Series.

With several ex Queens Park players now playing for MUM FC this was always going to be a tough game, and we went down 2-0. Even though the result was not what we would have liked there was still much to be admired about the way the players went about the game, and we look forward to seeing them again this Sunday when they take on another new team in the form of Perth Soccer Club. The game kicks off at Dorrien Gardens at 7 pm so let’s all try to get down and support the team as they seek to record our first ever win in an NPL competition.

Our other teams are now all working hard in pre-season training with several friendly games being arranged. From what I’ve seen, I feel confident that all our teams will be very competitive this season and I wish you all the very best.

Until the next time.

Tony Mullen

President
