At Northern Redbacks we take great pride in developing and helping young players to play at the highest level their talent and desire can take them, whilst also encouraging them to be competitive and hungry for success.
This can sometimes mean we push players into higher levels to challenge them, rather than keep them in their appropriate age group.
In 2017 our U15's took out the league and cup double in their age group, and in 2018 our U16's repeated that feat in their age group.
Our 2018 U18s team had a majority of players that could have still played u18s this year and they also competed in the Senior Metropolitan League last season finishing a very impressive 3rd position.
Since 2017 we have also had many players represent WA at State schoolgirl and State level from U12 to U17 level, and take as much pride in those achievements as we do in winning trophies and competitions.
For the 2019 season, most of our u18s and stronger u16s will be playing in State League Division 1 and 2 rather than in an age-appropriate division, but we will still have many talented young players outside of these 2 teams.
This will allow us to field teams in the U18's, U16's and U14's leagues, thus providing a true pathway for players from the age of 12 all the way through to senior football.
With over 90 players under the age of 21 in 2019, the future is bright for Northern Redbacks.
